Which animal personality are you?

There is a personality test that I LOVE. It uses animals to describe four personality types: The lion, the otter, the beaver and the golden retriever. I think this was created by Gary Smalley. Go here to see which you are and PLEASE post here or send me a message and tell me what you are. I am about 50/50 lion/otter. Brent is about 60/40 beaver/golden retriever. It's an awesome way to understand how your relationship works (and doesn't work!) It has been an amazing way for me to understand people more and understand that we are all different.

Here are some descriptions of each:

The Lion: Leader, independent, result oriented, direct, decisive, confident competitive, forceful, adventurous gets things done, goal oriented, in charge, persuasive, risk taker, entrepreneurial,
Lion’s have some great qualities but have to be careful of being: Bossy, pushy, domineering, a poor listener, head strong, not open, argumentative and insensitive.

The Beaver: Planner, sensitive, organize, artistic, creative, list maker, attention to detail, empathetic, orderly , schedule oriented, thinker, analytical idealistic, controlled perfectionist
The beaver has to be careful of: having standards to high, spending too much time planning, depressed over imperfection, not people oriented, critical of self and others.

Otter: Fun loving, enthusiastic, outgoing, team oriented, talkative, motivates others, spontaneous, optimistic, friendly, no grudges, life of the party, expressive, relational, playful, creative.
The Otter has to be careful of: Speaking before thinking, being undisciplined and unorganized, not negotiating the best deal, needing approval of others, decides without facts, naïve’.

Golden retriever: Peaceful, good listener, laid back, keeps to routine, content, deep relationships, loyal, patient, steady, inoffensive, balanced, reserved, reliable.
The Golden Retriever has to be careful of: Being taken advantage of, being too compromising, carrying others burdens, complacent, lacking motivation, resisting change, unenthusiastic.

The great thing is that all of these personalities have great qualities and strengths. They all are important. The difficult thing is knowing how your personality can rub people to the wrong way if you’re not careful. If lion’s are not careful, they will run off the beavers and golden retrievers with their driven personality. If beaver aren’t careful they drive the others crazy with details and criticism. If otters aren’t careful they will drive the beaver away by not giving them enough information and direction. If golden retrievers aren’t careful, they will never get anywhere for fear of someone not being happy with their decision or input.
